Guojian Wang

Dr. Guojian Wang is a research assistant professor in the Physics Department at the University of South Dakota. He received his PhD from Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences in June 2008. He joined the Physics Department at the University of South Dakota as a postdoctoral researcher in January, 2011. He was promoted to Research Assistant Professor in June 2015.  He visited the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee as a visiting scholar from May to June, 2018.

He has published twenty research papers and presented numerous oral presentations at international conferences in the field of high purity germanium purification, crystal growth, and detector development. He is currently the PI on a NSF grant entitled: “The distribution and origin of deep level charge trapping centers in large size high-purity germanium crystals”. He serves as a reviewer for twelve different scientific journals.
